Street Smoking Ban Stubbed out
CONTROVERSIAL plans to ban smoking in outside cafe areas are being dropped following a backlash from landlords and cafe owners.
Instead licensees will be asked to voluntarily ban smoking outside their premises.
Only a modicum of common sense in Barnsley, first of all they have forced smokers outside business premises they are to blame for the situation in the first place. Why would licensees want to ban smoking outside their premises, they are losing custom at a rapid rate due to the smoking ban they do not want even less custom.
Suggestion to Barnsley council support the smokers and lobby for smoking and non smoking establishments. Smokers would then not be forced out on the street and we would not have that problem. I will not be holding my breath.
